Cafe time gives me real presence

There is a cafe I love where I can be easily present.
It feels easier for me to be present there than in my own room. It is just a regular cafe near my place that I visit often. This place has a big window facing a quiet street where people pass by. From there, I can enjoy view of trees and flowers, and sometimes even butterflies stop by. Simply sitting there makes me feel calm and relaxed.

People at cafe are working on their own work; some are reading books, some are working with their PC, and others are chatting. I just see them from time to time. I can feel the existence of those people softly.

There are thoughts coming and going, but at the same time, there is awareness, so I am not completely absorbed in the thinking unless it is necessary. It feels wonderful to have such a place. I am sure you also have your favorite places like that. For me, it doesn’t have to be totally quiet to stay present- though too much noise does interfere.

I feel like sharing this because it almost seems like a magic. My negativity has faded away. The issues are still there- nothing about them has changed, but I am not taking them so seriously anymore.

This small experience proves to me that our happiness may depend more on our inner world. Probably we are -assuming that this is also happening to you- adding extra layers of negativity to the real issue, making it more complicated that it needs to be.

Meditation is not the only way to be present. Anywhere, anytime, we can stay present. If spending in a cafe help us to be present, that is more realistic and grounded way to practice it.
Being in the present moment gives power to be creative and focus on what we really focus on.
Have a nice cafe time!
